Frequently Asked Questions

Q - Who is JewelNet.com?
A -
JewelNet.com is the largest retailers of Lab Grown Eco Friendly Diamond Jewelry on the internet. We are committed to bringing Lab Grown Eco Friendly and Socially Conscious Diamonds to consumers worldwide.

Q - What are "Created, Laboratory-Grown or Cultured Diamonds"?
A -
A term used to distinguish diamonds grown by man from those grown in nature. All the terms above represent man-made diamonds blending human ingenuity and science, a breakthrough in beauty and fashion. A Created, Cultured or Laboratory-grown diamond is a diamond that has the identical optical, physical and chemical properties as a mined diamond with point of origin being the only distinction. One is grown above the ground while the other is extracted from the ground. Simply put, it’s a real diamond.

Q - How are Lab Grown Diamonds Created?
A -
JewelNet.com does not create diamonds. The diamonds are created when carbon in the form of graphite is submitted to the same extreme temperatures and pressures that exist 100 miles below the earth’s surface just as in nature diamond crystals are formed. A Lab Grown diamond is a diamond that is grown from a small diamond seed, under the same conditions that natural diamonds grow in the earth. The diamond seed is placed in an environment that contains carbon, the molecular component of diamonds. After applying tremendous pressure and very high temperatures, under highly controlled conditions, the small diamond seed begins to grow, molecule by molecule, layer by layer, emulating nature’s process.

Q - What is the difference between a Lab Grown Diamond vs. a Mined Diamond?
A -
Lab Grown diamonds are physically, optically and chemically the same as earth-grown diamonds. They have the same brilliance, luster, fire, hardness, refractive index and specific gravity with the only difference being their origin. One is grown above the ground while the other is extracted from the ground. Both are diamonds.

Q - How are Lab Grown Diamonds Graded?
A -
Lab Grown diamonds, like earth-grown diamonds, are graded according to the Gemological Institute of America’s 4C’s standards for clarity, cut, carat weight, and color. As further certification, each JewelNet.com diamond 1.00 carat and above are laser-inscribed at the girdle and certified by the International Gemological Institute’s Eco Diamond Report. Diamonds less than 1.00 carat are certified by Renaissance Diamonds Eco Collection Certificate and Appraisal Report.

Q - Are JewelNet.Com Cultured Diamonds Certified?
A -
Yes, JewelNet.com provides International Gemological Institute Created Diamond Reports for diamonds 1.00 carat and above. Diamonds under 1.00 carat are certified by Renaissance Diamonds Eco Collection Certificate and Appraisal Report

Q - What colors are available?
A -
The color of each Lab Grown diamond arises naturally during the growth of the diamond. The colors are vivid, often superior to most mined fancy color diamonds. We currently specialize in the most popular colors, yellow, orange, pink, red and blue.

Q - Where have fancy color diamonds been seen?
A -
Some of the world’s most famous and notorious diamonds are fancy color. Each recognized for their extreme beauty and rarity, fancy color diamonds are associated with some of the most iconic figures in history, from Louis XIV and his precious Tavernier Blue (later re-cut and known as the Hope Diamond) to Catherine the Great and her famous Blue-Green Orlov. Everyone remembers Marilyn Monroe’s beautiful pear shape yellow diamond, the Moon of Baroda, which she wore to promote the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes… And today fancy color diamonds are more visible than ever… Jennifer Lopez’ pink diamond… Heidi Klum’s 10 carat yellow diamond… and of course Halle Berry, who received her 2002 Oscar wearing a pumpkin diamond ring.
